From Absolutely Appalled to Absolutely Encouraged
Have you ever felt outraged? Utterly appalled about something? Flabbergasted? Perhaps even downright indignant?!
I certainly have. However, interestingly enough, it was one such wave of emotions that inspired me to try to figure out what could be done about some of the barriers that I was observing youth and young adults in crisis were up against. As a result, Small House Inc. was born!
These days, though, there’s an entirely different set of emotions that I get to experience often when I have the opportunity to work with a wonderful group of volunteers. I get to be inspired, encouraged, I get to feel joy, and to fell total satisfaction when I witness folks coming together to give of their time in support of youth and young adults.
Through a partnership with Life Science Cares, Small House recently teamed up with The Haven Project in Lynn and Ultragenyx to get a new transitional house ready and prepared to receive young adults later this year. The volunteers came, they saw, they conquered. They got everything all cleaned up and the house is one step closer to being ready to open.
We’re always grateful for the passion and the generosity of the volunteers that support Small House.
